Foundation Council

The Foundation Council is the supervisory body of the Institute for Solar Physics.

The members of the Foundation Council include a representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg (Chair), a representative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Deputy Chair), the Rector of the University of Freiburg, a person elected by the staff of the KIS and employed at the KIS, and the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board (with advisory mandate).

The Council meets regularly once per year. 

The Council supervises legality, utility, and economy of the conduct of the Institute's business. The Council approves the Institute's annual budget and discharges the Board. The Council decides on matters of fundamental imprtance, in particular on medium and long range research policies, on financial terms and on the composition of the Board.
