The Administration provides support in the fulfillment of the Institute's main tasks and ensures the operation of the Institute for Solar Physics (KIS) through a variety processes. Together with the entire Board of Directors, it ensures the compliance of the Institute as a legal entity.

Specifically, the administration is responsible for the structuring and execution of the processes of human resources, accounting, finance and procurement, third-party funding management, and asset accounting. The individual teams secure all essential tasks of the institute's organisation and activities administratively.
