The main tasks of the Electronics Laboratory and its workshop are the qualified development, design, production, and installation of electronic and electromechanical assemblies for the observatories, astronomical instrumentation as well as for earth- and space-bound projects at KIS. For the assemblies and their controls, the software development is also carried out in or with this team. For this purpose, the team has a wide range of professionaly equipped workstations at its disposal.

In addition, members of the team support the operation of the observatories on Tenerife as technical assistants.
