October 2021: GREGOR main mirror recoated

During the maintenance in October 2021, the GREGOR main mirror was recoated and the telescope optics realigned.

 

In October 2021, the following technical maintenance works were carried out at the GREGOR telecope:

  • The main mirror was newly coated at the IAC facility in La Laguna.
  • The alignment of the telescope optics was improved.
  • A new AO server room was constructed outside the optical lab.
  • The dome membrane was repaired.
  • A new F1 field stop was mounted.
  • The GREGOR Slow Polarimeter Modulator (GSPM) was successfully tested jointly by KIS and IRSOL.
