International conference on telescopes and instrumentation at KIS
In late January the Institute of Solar Physics (KIS) hosted an international conference titled “Methods and techniques for high-resolution spectro-polarimetry with current and future high-resolution telescopes: Lessons learned and ways forward". Main conference topics were the design, construction and operation of large-aperture solar telescopes. During three days, about 50 scientists from more than a dozen European, American, Chinese and Indian institutes, including all major high-resolution solar observing facilities, exchanged views, experiences and knowledge on cameras, polarimeters and modulators, integral-field units, Fabry-Pérot systems, etc. A special session was dedicated to the following future (and recently installed) instruments and facilities: Visible Tunable Filter (VTF) for the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST), European Solar Telescope, National Solar Telescope (NST, India), Giant Chinese Solar Telescope (GCST).
