Students observing remotely with Gregor

Remote Observations at the Gregor Solar Telescope at the INFIERI summer school in Pisa from September 1st to 13th.

The INFIERI School brings together world-class specialists from many frontiers of Physics. Across astrophysics, particle and nuclear physics, gravitational-wave astronomy, plasma-fusion engineering, accelerator and detector technology, quantum information and AI-driven data analysis, their lectures and hands-on labs give participants an unparalleled, cross-disciplinary view of the cutting edge.

The INFIERI Summer School offers a unique two-week program designed for M.Sc. students, Ph.D. candidates, postdocs, and early-career researchers.

In this year's edition of the INFIERI student school in Pisa from September 1st to 13th, lectures were given on Solar and Heliospheric Physics by Milan Maksimovic (LIRA, CNRS, Observatoire de Paris-PSL), Nour Rawafi (Parker Solar Probe Project Scientist from Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory), and Rolf Schlichenmaier (KIS). In eight afternoon hands-on lab sessions, students experienced a virtual tour to the Gregor Solar Telescope and  performed remote observations from Pisa with the instruments GRIS and HiFIplus at Gregor.

Hand-on session for students: remote observations with the Gregor Solar Telescope.
