This procedure is part of routine servicing and performed every two to three years so as to remove the dust accumulating over time and contaminating the mirror.

The picture shows the mirror before and after the cleaning procedure. Reintegration of the mirror into the telescope then had to be postponed a few times due to high levels of Saharan dust, but now it has been successfully reinstalled. The observation season can get started!
