Project Manager to lead and control the SOLARNET Project

The Kiepenheuer Institute for Solar Physics, a public-law foundation and member of the Leibniz Association, conducts basic research in the field of astrophysics. The Institute coordinates the “High-resolution Solar Physics Network - SOLARNET” aimed at activities of European Institutions and Organisations and funded within the EU framework programme “Horizon 2020”. The Kiepenheuer Institute for Solar Physics is currently seeking to fill the position of Project Manager to lead and control the SOLARNET Project beginning on January 1, 2019. The full-time position will be initially limited to four years.

The Institute coordinates the “High-resolution Solar Physics Network - SOLARNET” aimed at activities of European Institutions and Organisations and funded within the EU framework programme “Horizon 2020”.

The Kiepenheuer Institute for Solar Physics is currently seeking to fill the position of

Project Manager to lead and control the SOLARNET Project

beginning on January 1, 2019. The full-time position will be initially limited to four years. 

Its main management duties include:

- managing the SOLARNET project office

- independently operating, controlling and completing the project budget accounting (using SAP)

- independently preparing audits

- organising travel within the SOLARNET Access and Mobility Programme

- preparing travel expense reports (following the billing policies determined by the state of Baden-Württemberg - “Landesreisekostengesetz”) and other expense reports

- planning and keeping the minutes of the meetings of both the Board and Executive Board

- independently handling administrative tasks in cooperation with the project partners

 

Further project monitoring and project coordination duties include:

- independently supervising the finances and progress of the project

- preparing budgets as the project is executed

- developing and implementing project monitoring mechanism

- timely providing the stipulated services (deliverables) in collaboration with the project partners

- generating the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation Plan

-  communicating with the research community, industry, politicians, press, and the general public. 

 

Other duties are:

- generating periodical reports to the European Commission, together with the project partners

- organising and executing the Midterm Review and Final Review

- independently preparing financial reports (Form C) in collaboration with all partners

- independently corresponding with the 35 partners and EU authorities.

 

Do you have a relevant university degree (M.Sc.)?

Are you fluent in German, English and Spanish (spoken and written)?

Do you have good office communication skills?

Knowledge of SAP as well as of the processing modalities involved in the EU framework programme Horizon 2020 will be an asset.

Do you have good communication skills and would you enjoy working as part of a project team and with European project participants?

Employment and remuneration will be based on the TV-L collective agreement. Full-time positions may be shared in principle, provided that there are no institutional or legal impediments to doing so.
